New Brunswick gay and lesbian couples won their right to equality on June 24th, 2005. That's when Judge Judy Clendenning ruled that denying gay couples a marriage licence was against their charter rights. She allowed to government of New Brunswick 10 days to start issuing licence's to same sex couples.

On July 4th, 2005, the New Brunswick government started handing out the new licence's, that allowed gay couples to marry in that province.

Since the national legalization of marriage to all couples, of any sexual orientation, it is easy for a same sex couple to find a location to have a wedding. .

You may be married by clerics of churches and religious denominations, as long as they are authorized under the Marriage Act. You may also be married by clerks and deputy clerks of the Court of Queen’s Bench. Below are listed locations for a civil marriage.
